Complex results of studies of shungite water

The chemical components of shungite water are often an important issue for people using such water. High levels of cobalt are often considered hazardous to shungite water.

At the same time, cobalt is a component of vitamin B12, which occurs naturally in the human body. Therefore, it is non-toxic in small quantities. No limit value has been set for cobalt as it is not necessary according to experts. The negative effects can only be expected when taking huge amounts of 25 to 30 mg per day. Such high concentrations are never achieved in drinking water. Thus, the Decree on drinking water does not set any limit values for cobalt. WHO also considers restrictive recommendations to be unnecessary.

The study of shungite water shows the following: the measured values of cobalt of about 0.01 mg/L are in an absolutely harmless range and pose no threat to the human body in this concentration.
